The Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals meet Wednesday in game one of an MLB doubleheader at Nationals Park.

The Atlanta Braves look for a win here to rebound from a rough 0-4 start. The Braves have scored six runs in their last three games and three or less runs in three of their first four games. The Braves have lost nine straight games when scoring three or less runs. Ronald Acuna Jr. leads the Braves with four hits and three RBI while Austin Riley and Travis d’Arnaud have combined for six hits and one RBI. Huascar Ynoa gets the ball, and he is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and zero strikeouts this season. Ynoa is 0-0 with a 7.56 ERA and nine strikeouts in his career against the Nationals.

The Washington Nationals look for another win after beating the Braves on Tuesday in their season opener. The Nationals made multiple comebacks in their victory, including a run in both the eighth and ninth innings to close the deal. The Nationals now look for a win to start 2-0 for the first time since the 2018 season. Andrew Stevenson leads the Nationals with two hits and one RBI while Ryan Zimmerman and Starlin Castro have combined for three hits. Erick Fedde gets the ball, and he was 2-4 with a 4.29 ERA and 28 strikeouts last season. Fedde is 0-1 with a 12.56 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his career against the Braves.

Will update with trends once they’re released.

These games are always tough to predict because it’s going to be an opener for both sides, so whenever you’re putting your money, you’re going to be relying on a lot of bullpen arms. You can’t really dig deep into the numbers like you usually would with a starter on the hill. With that said, the Atlanta Braves just can’t get out of their own way right now and I’m sure last nights performance didn’t help where they blew several leads. The Washington Nationals showed their scrappiness in their season opener and should have a great deal of confidence heading into this contest.

Because of the momentum and the early start, give me the Nats at home.
