The Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Wednesday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The Cincinnati Reds need a win after losing seven of their last nine games. The Reds have scored 13 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last eight games. The Reds have lost five of their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Jesse Winker leads the Reds with 26 hits and 13 RBI while Nick Castellanos and Joey Votto have combined for 44 hits and 26 RBI. Sonny Gray gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. Gray is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA and 18 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers need a win after losing seven of their last nine games. The Dodgers have scored 15 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Dodgers have lost five of their last six games when scoring three or less runs. Justin Turner leads the Dodgers with 27 hits and 19 RBI while Corey Seager and Mookie Betts have combined for 43 hits and 20 RBI. Clayton Kershaw gets the ball, and he is 3-2 with a 2.56 ERA and 31 strikeouts this season. Kershaw is 3-2 with a 2.54 ERA and 84 strikeouts in his career against the Reds.
The Reds are 1-5 in their last 6 games as an underdog and 1-7 in their last 8 overall. The Dodgers are 38-14 in their last 52 during game 3 of a series and 91-36 in their last 127 home games. The over is 6-1-1 in Reds last 8 overall. The over is 4-0 in Dodgers last 4 overall. The Reds are 7-17 in the last 24 meetings in Los Angeles and 2-6 in the last 8 meetings.
As I've said in previous write ups, the Los Angeles Dodgers at home are going to be favored regardless of who they play, but they're not playing well and continue to kill bettors by not cashing these heavily juiced prices. The Cincinnati Reds look like they're getting their offense together and they've cashed back to back games against the Dodgers as big underdogs. It feels greedy to try to triple dip here, especially with Kershaw on the mound, but the plus money and the Reds is where the value is at once again.
