The Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves meet Saturday in MLB action from SunTrust Park.

This will be the second installment of a three-game series between these teams this weekend. In the Friday opener, the Braves posted a seven-run blowout win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Philadelphia kicked off their year with a three-game sweep of the Braves, then took two of three from the Mets this week. In Friday’s game, the Phillies couldn’t find much offense and fell in an 8-1 affair. Andrew McCutchen put up the lone RBI in that one.

For the Saturday game two matchup, the Phillies will send out Zach Eflin to start. In his season debut on Sunday versus Atlanta, Eflin gave up just one run with eight strikeouts and one walk in seven innings of work. He’ll be looking for a repeat performance in this one.

Over on the Braves’ side, they scored just three runs in three games during the opener series, but managed to win the Nationals series 2-1. On Friday, Atlanta plated three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings on the way to the blowout win. Ronald Acuna had four hits with two RBI and a run.

For Saturday’s starting pitcher role, Ian Anderson. In the Sunday matchup against the Phillies, Anderson put up five innings with seven Ks and one run on four hits. Anderson had a rough first inning with 27 pitches but was able to recover from there and play well.

The Phillies are 9-3 in their last 12 Saturday games and 7-20 in their last 27 road games versus a right-handed starter. The under is 5-1 in the Phillies’ last six Saturday games and the under is 8-3 in their last 11 in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Braves are 0-4 in their last four Saturday games and 41-19 in their last 60 home games. The under is 9-3-1 in Atlanta’s last 13 Saturday games and 15-7-2 in their last 24 in game two of a series.

PICK: I’m going to take the Phillies here. This should be another great starting pitcher matchup like last time, and it’ll definitely be a fun game to watch. In Sunday’s Eflin-Anderson matchup, Philly eked out a 2-1 victory thanks to a late run in the bottom of the eighth. I expect this one to be close and lower-scoring as well, with some similar late-inning heroics happening.
