The New York Mets and the Baltimore Orioles meet in MLB action from Camden Yards on Tuesday night.

The New York Mets will look to build on a 6-2 win over the Padres from Sunday’s series finale. James McCann led the charge with a two-run home run and Dominic Smith added a solo blast as well. Billy McKinney, Pete Alonso and Marcus Stroman each had an RBI to cap off the scoring for the Mets in the win with Stroman adding a double to help his own cause. Jose Peraza also went 2 for 4 with a double while Brandon Drury and Mason Williams each added base hits as well to cap off the offense for the Mets in the win. Stroman got the win on the mound, improving to 5-4 on the year after allowing an unearned run on four hits while walking four and striking out seven over 6.2 innings of work. David Peterson will start here and is 1-4 with a 5.89 ERA and 49 strikeouts this season. This will be Peterson’s first career start against the Orioles.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to build on their 18-5 drubbing of the Cleveland Indians in their last matchup for their 4th win in their last 5 games. Anthony Santander led the charge with a double and three RBIs while Ryan Mountcastle, Maikel Franco, Ramon Urias, Ryan McKenna and Cedric Mullins all had two RBIs with Mullins going 3 for 4 with a solo home run and a double, Urias belting a solo homer of his own and Mountcastle also adding a double. DJ Stewart and Austin Wynns each had multi-hit games with an RBI as well to cap off the offense for Baltimore in the win as the O’s had 21 hits in the victory. Jorge Lopez got the win to improve to 2-6 on the year after allowing three runs on four hits while striking out a pair over five innings of work. Bruce Zimmermann will start here and is 3-3 with a 4.96 ERA and 43 strikeouts this season. This will be Zimmermann’s first career start against the Mets.

New York is 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite and 8-3 in their last 11 games overall while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games following a win. Baltimore is 17-36 in their last 53 games overall and 50-103 in their last 153 games following a win while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a left-handed starter. New York is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

The Baltimore Orioles are not a team that you want to bet often if you enjoy winning your wagers or keeping money in your pocket. However, it’s hard to ignore the nice run that the Orioles have had to start the month and Zimmermann was the pitcher that got Baltimore’s last win before the massive losing streak over the last couple weeks of May and also got the O’s first win to snap the losing streak. David Peterson’s been awful for the Mets for the better part of the season and I don’t see any reason to back him here. I’ll take a stab with the Orioles to keep their winning ways going here.
