The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants meet in an NL West division matchup in MLB action from Oracle Park on Friday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on their 3-2 win over Arizona from Thursday night. Justin Turner has a team-high 42 hits with 23 RBIs while Corey Seager has 22 RBIs with a pair of triples. Chris Taylor’s got a .289 batting average and a team-leading 3 triples while Mookie Betts has a team-high 14 doubles and Max Muncy leads the Dodgers with 8 home runs this season. The problem for Muncy is that he also has the dubious distinction of leading the Dodgers with 42 strikeouts at the dish this season. Trevor Bauer is expected to get the start here and is 4-2 with a 2.20 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. This will be Bauer’s first career start against San Francisco.

The San Francisco Giants will look to add to their 19-4 rout of the Cincinnati Reds from Thursday’s action. Brandon Crawford leads the Giants with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs while Mike Yastrzemski has team-high tallies of 10 doubles with a pair of tripls. Evan Longoria has a .248 batting average and a .347 OBP while Buster Posey has a team-high 37 hits. Austin Slater leads the Giants with 41 strikeouts this season while Brandon Belt is close behind with 40 this season. Alex Wood is expected to get the start here and is 5-0 with a 1.75 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season. In his career, Wood is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 20 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles is 49-18 in their last 67 division games and 70-33 in their last 103 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games as a road favorite. San Francisco is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. The over is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

I get the case that could be made for the over as these are two of the hotter hitting clubs in the majors right now. However this is a pitcher’s duel if there ever was one, as Bauer’s been solid for his new club this season and Alex Wood has found his all-star form from a few years back. Give me the under in this one, even with the low total.
