The Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles meet Monday in MLB action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Minnesota Twins look for a win after winning seven of their last 10 games. The Twins have scored 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in four of their last eight games. The Twins have won seven straight games when scoring four or more runs. Nelson Cruz leads the Twins with 44 hits and 25 RBI while Jorge Polanco and Luis Arraez have combined for 78 hits and 33 RBI. Jose Berrios gets the ball, and he is 5-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 63 strikeouts this season. Berrios is 6-0 with a 3.27 ERA and 43 strikeouts in his career against the Orioles.
The Baltimore Orioles are looking for their first win since May 16. The Orioles have scored six runs in their last three games and three or less runs in five of their last seven games. The Orioles haven’t won a game when scoring three or less runs in April 30. Cedric Mullins leads the Orioles with 60 hits and 14 RBI while Try Mancini and Freddy Galvis have combined for 93 hits and 62 RBI. Jorge Lopez gets the ball, and he is 1-6 with a 5.80 ERA and 45 strikeouts this season. Lopez is 2-2 with a 5.50 ERA and 16 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.
The Twins are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 5-2 in their last 7 overall. The Orioles are 62-132 in their last 194 home games and 15-36 in their last 51 overall. The over is 34-16-2 in Twins last 52 overall. The under is 4-1 in Orioles last 5 overall. The Twins are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Baltimore and 36-17 in the last 53 meetings.
The Minnesota Twins look like a team that’s finally starting to turn the corner and they’re playing to their potential. Jose Berrios also looks sharp and he’s downright owned the Orioles over his career. The Baltimore Orioles haven’t won a game in two weeks and Lopez isn’t the pitcher who is going to fix matters. Price is a bit expensive, but I have no choice but to side with the Twins.
