The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins meet Thursday in MLB action at loanDepot park. The Rockies look for a win after winning six of their last nine games. The Marlins need a win after losing 10 of their last 12 games.

The Colorado Rockies have scored nine runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Rockies have won seven of their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Raimel Tapia leads the Rockies with 62 hits and 31 RBI while Ryan McMahon and Charlie Blackmon have combined for 106 hits and 65 RBI. Chi Chi Gonzalez gets the ball, and he is 2-3 with a 4.84 ERA and 25 strikeouts this season. This will be Gonzalez’s first career game against the Marlins.

The Miami Marlins have scored 12 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six of their last nine games. The Marlins have lost nine of their last 10 games when scoring three or less runs. Jesus Aguilar leads the Marlins with 55 hits and 46 RBI while Corey Dickerson and Miguel Rojas have combined for 96 hits and 30 RBI. Trevor Rogers gets the ball, and he is 6-3 with a 1.97 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season. This will be Rogers’ first career game against the Rockies.

The Rockies are 13-38 in their last 51 road games and 26-56 in their last 82 games as an underdog. The Marlins are 5-2 in their last 7 home games and 2-9 in their last 11 overall. The under is 7-2 in Rockies last 9 road games. The over is 5-2 in Marlins last 7 overall. The Rockies are 5-15 in the last 20 meetings in Miami.

The Rockies and the plus money is worth a look given they’re playing the better ball right now. The Marlins and juice in their current form is a tough sell. With that said, Trevor Rogers has been one of the better pitchers in baseball this season and should be a strong candidate to win NL Rookie of the Year. The fish should like their chances at a much needed victory. Give me the Marlins and the RL for added value.
