The Boston Red Sox and the Atlanta Braves meet in MLB action from Truist Park on Tuesday night.

The Boston Red Sox will look to build on their 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays from Monday. Alex Verdugo and Rafael Devers each went 2 for 4 with an RBI to make up the scoring for Boston in the win with Verdugo adding a double to his stat line. Marwin Gonzalez also had a pair of hits while J.D. Martinez had a base hit as well as the BoSox had just seven hits as a team in the winning effort. Nathan Eovaldi threw 6.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four, not factoring in the decision. Matt Barnes closed out a shaky 9th for the win to improve to 3-1 on the year. Eduardo Rodriguez will start here and is 5-4 with a 6.03 ERA and 70 strikeouts this season. This will be Rodriguez’s second career start against the Braves.

The Atlanta Braves will try to build on their 6-4 win over the Miami Marlins from Sunday. Austin Riley led the charge, going 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs while Ender Inciarte added a solo homer of his own and Guillermo Heredia added a double and an RBI. Kevan Smith had an RBI to finish off the scoring for Atlanta in the win while Freddie Freeman added a double. Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr. each had a base hit as well to finish off Atlanta’s offense as a team in the winning effort. Drew Smyly got the win to improve to 3-3 on the year after allowing two runs on six hits while striking out six over five innings of work. Will Smith closed out the 9th for his 12th save of the season. Tucker Davidson will start here and is 0-0 with a 1.53 ERA and 14 strikeouts this season. This will be Davidson’s second career start against Boston.

Boston is 4-0 in their last 4 road games and 52-16 in their last 68 interleague games as a favorite while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the NL East. Atlanta is 7-3 in their last 10 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 Tuesday games. The over is 7-1-1 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Atlanta.

Boston looked good in shutting down Toronto on Monday, but now have to travel on no rest to take on a pretty good Braves team despite what the record would say and Eduardo Rodriguez hasn’t been sharp lately. I’m not 100% sold on Tucker Davidson but the small sample size has been promising so I’ll take the Braves in this one.
