The Baltimore Orioles and the Cleveland Indians meet Thursday in MLB action from Progressive Field. This will be the final installment in a four-game series between these teams this week. The Indians won the first two matchups, then in the Wednesday game Cleveland eked out a one-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Baltimore couldn’t get it going in the first two games of this set, falling 4-3 on Monday and 7-2 in the Tuesday game. On Wednesday the Orioles posted 12 team hits but fell in a tough 8-7 defeat. Keegan Akin went 5.2 innings with eight earned on eight hits.

For the starter job in the Thursday finale, the Orioles will send out Jorge Lopez. Across his 60.2 innings this year, Lopez has 63 hits, 39 runs (38 earned), 10 homers, 26 walks, 62 Ks and a 5.64 ERA.

Over on the Indians’ side, they scored five runs in the fourth inning on Tuesday during the win, getting three hits out of Amed Rosario. On Wednesday Cleveland had a big third inning with five runs. Aaron Civale put up 5.0 innings with nine hits and five earned runs.

For the Thursday starter job, the Indians will send out Eli Morgan. On May 28 in his debut, Morgan struggled with six runs in 2.2 innings.

The Orioles are 18-42 in their last 60 versus the AL Central and 15-38 in their last 53 road games. Baltimore is 12-39 in their last 51 Thursday games and 12-39 in their last 51 road games versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Indians are 6-1 in their last seven in game four in a series and 67-31 in their last 98 Thursday games. The under is 4-1-1 in Cleveland’s last six Thursday games and 3-1-1 in the last five in game four of a series.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Orioles here. Lopez had something of a rough outing his last time up versus the Rays, going 4.2 innings with five earned on eight hits. Prior to that he’d given up four earned over 11.0 innings though, including 5.0 innings with three earned and four hits versus the Indians. If Lopez can come out and produce a quality start in this one I think Baltimore has a shot.
