The Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies meet Thursday in MLB action from Coors Field. The Brewers are coming off a series this week versus the Reds. Milwaukee lost the first two games in that set, then on Wednesday the Brewers took a one-run loss. As for the Rockies, they played the Padres in their last set. Colorado won the first pair in that series, then in the Wednesday finale the Rockies eked out a one-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Milwaukee didn’t have much luck against the Reds this week, falling 10-2 on Monday and 2-1 in the Tuesday game. On Wednesday the Brewers had an early lead but lost it in an eventual 2-1 loss. Freddy Peralta lasted 7.0 innings with two earned on five hits.
For the Thursday starting pitcher job, the Brewers are sending out Brandon Woodruff. In his 83.0 innings of work this year, Woodruff has 43 hits, 15 runs (14 earned), six homers, 17 walks, 97 Ks and a 1.52 ERA.

Over on the Colorado side, they managed victories 3-2 Monday and 8-4 Tuesday in the Padres series. On Wednesday the Rockies posted 13 team hits in a walk-off 8-7 win. Kyle Freeland lasted just 3.2 innings with nine hits and five earned, however.
For the starter job in the Thursday game, Colorado is sending out German Marquez. This year Marquez carries a 4-6 record with a 4.60 ERA and 80 Ks. He’s coming off a bad outing with eight earned runs in five innings on Saturday.
The Brewers are 6-1 in their last seven in game one of a series and 14-4 in their last 18 overall. The under is 17-7-1 in Milwaukee’s last 25 Thursday games and 25-12-1 in their last 38 road games.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 2-5 in their last seven Thursday games and 8-21 in their last 29 versus the NL Central. Colorado is 16-44 in their last 60 versus a team with a winning record and the over is 21-4-1 in their last 26 Thursday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Brewers, even though that Reds series didn’t go so well. Woodruff has been his usual efficient self lately, putting up just four earned over his last four starts in a span of 26.0 innings. Woodruff posted two earned on four hits (two homers) in 7.0 innings his last time up versus the Pirates, and I like him to keep it going here.
