The Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros meet in MLB action fro Minute Maid Park on Saturday.

The Chicago White Sox will look to rebound from their 2-1 loss at the hands of the Astros on Friday. Jose Abreu had the lone RBI for the White Sox in the losing effort while Andrew Vaughn and Brian Goodwin each had a double. Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, Jake Lamb and Zach Collins each had a base hit as well to cap off Chicago’s offense as a team in the losing effort. Carlos Rodon gave up one run on three hits while striking out eight over seven innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Garrett Crochet took the loss in relief to fall to 2-3 on the year. Lance Lynn will start here and is 7-2 with a 1.51 ERA and 80 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lynn is 5-6 with a 3.94 ERA and 92 strikeouts against Houston.

The Houston Astros will look to build on their win over the White Sox on Friday. Yordan Alvarez went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Martin Maldonado added an RBi as well to cap off Houston’s scoring as a team in the win. Yuli Gurriel and Abraham Toro each had a base hit as well as the Astros mustered up just five hits as a team in the winning effort. Luis Garcia gave up the one run on seven hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Ryan Pressly got the win in relief to improve to 4-1 on the year as a result. Framber Valdez will start here and is 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 24 strikeouts this season. This will be Valdez’s first career start against the White Sox.

Chicago is 5-2 in their last 7 games against the AL West and 35-17 in their last 52 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Houston is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 games as a favorite while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. The under is 22-10-1 in the last 33 meetings between these two teams and 13-5 in the last 18 meetings between the two teams in Houston.

I get the case for the over considering the talent on both sides, but realistically, I’d have a case with any pitching matchup except these two pitchers. Lance Lynn’s been lights out and so has Framber Valdez. Another 2-1 game on Saturday wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, so I’ll side with the under here.
