The Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Angels meet in MLB action from Angel Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Detroit Tigers will try to bounce back from an 8-3 loss at the hands of the Angels from Saturday. Daz Cameron led the way with two RBIs, going 2 for 4 with a solo home run while Jonathan Schoop added an RBI as well to make up the rest of the scoring for the Tigers in the loss. Jake Rogers also added a pair of hits as the tigers had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Wily Peralta took the loss on the mound after allowing five runs on seven hits over five innings of work. Casey Mize will start here and is 4-4 with a 3.49 ERA and 62 strikeouts this season. This will be Mize’s first career start against the Angels.

The Los Angeles Angels will try to keep the momentum going after their win over the Tigers on Saturday. Shohei Ohtani and Jared Walsh each had a two-run home run with Walsh going 2 for 4 with a double as well while David Fletcher also went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Luis Rengifo added an RBI as well while Justin Upton went 2 for 5 with a double. Kurt Suzuki and Taylor Ward each had a double as well while Jose Iglesias added a base knock as well to finish off the Angels’ offense as a team in the defeat. Patrick Sandoval got the win to improve to 2-2 on the year after allowing three runs on four hits with nine strikeouts over 5.2 innings of work. Dylan Bundy will start here and is 1-7 with a 6.58 ERA and 58 strikeouts this season. in his career, Bundy is 0-2 with a 5.65 ERA and 13 strikeouts against the Tigers.

Detroit is 17-42 in their last 59 Sunday games and 14-43 in their last 57 games against the AL East while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the AL West. Los Angeles is 5-0 in their last 5 games against the AL Central and 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 13-3 in their last 16 games overall. The over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

I get why the under would make sense as Mize has been really good for the Tigers lately and Bundy has started to pitch better despite some horrendous numbers on the year. However, I just can’t get myself away from the over when it’s been hitting at such a high clip for both sides. I think the offenses show up once again, and if they don’t get to the starters, they’ll get to the bullpens eventually. Give me the over here.
