The Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox meet in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Seattle Mariners will look to build on their strong showing in a 9-3 win over the White Sox on Friday. Luis Torrens led the way, going 2 for 5 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs while Jake Fraley had a home run and two RBIs. Jake Bauers and Mitch Haniger each had a pair of hits with an RBI while Tom Murphy had a double. Dylan Moore and J.P. Crawford each had a pair of base hits while Ty France and Kyle Seager each had a base hit to cap off Seattle’s offense as a team in the win. Yusei Kikuchi got the win to improve to 5-3 on the year after allowing one run on two hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings of work. Logan Gilbert will start here and is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 36 strikeouts this season. This will be Gilbert’s first career start against the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox will try to bounce back after a punchless outing against the Mariners on Friday. Yoan Moncada went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs while Yasmani Grandal had a solo home run to make up the scoring for the White Sox in the loss. Andrew Vaughn added a double while Tim Anderson and Brian Goodwin added a base hit each to cap off the White Sox offense as Chicago had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Carlos Rodon took the loss, falling to 6-3 on the year after allowing three runs on five hits while striking out eight over five innings of work. Lance Lynn will start here and is 7-3 with a 2.14 ERA and 86 strikeouts this season. in his career, Lynn is 3-1 with a 2.53 ERA and 37 strikeouts against Seattle.

Seattle is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 6-2 in their last 8 games as an underdog while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 Saturday games. Chicago is 40-13 in their last 53 games as a home favorite and 1-4 in their last 5 games against a right-handed starter while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the AL West. The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

I get the case that could be made for Seattle here as the Mariners have looked really good offensively at times in the last few games, but if I’ve learned one thing about the Seattle Mariners, it’s that more often than not, the offense is not sustainable for long. Lance Lynn had a rare bad start last time out, but I look for him to get back on track against the soft-hitting Mariners. Give me the White Sox -1.5 here.
