The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals meet in MLB action from Nationals Park on Friday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on a 6-2 win in a rain-shortened five inning decision last time out. Max Muncy had a grand slam and A.J. Pollock had a solo home run while Albert Pujols added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Dodgers in the win. Justin Turner had a pair of hits, while Chris Taylor, Cody Bellinger, Will Smith and Steven Souza Jr. each had a base hit to finish off the offense for the Dodgers in the win. Tony Gonsolin got the win in relief to improve to 1-0 on the year as a result. Julio Urias will start here and is 9-3 with a 3.95 ERA and 107 strikeouts this season. In his career, Urias is 1-0 with a 3.08 ERA and 14 strikeouts against Washington.

The Washington Nationals will try to rebound from their loss at the hands of the Dodgers last time out. Juan Soto and Starlin Castro each had an RBI while Kyle Schwarber added a double and Josh Bell added a base hit as well to cap off Washington’s offense as the Nats had just four hits as a team in the five inning loss. Patrick Corbin took the loss, falling to 5-7 on the year after allowing five earned runs on eight hits while striking out a pair over 4.2 innings of work. Max Scherzer will start here and is 7-4 with a 2.14 ERA and 119 strikeouts this season. In his career, Scherzer is 5-5 with a 2.67 ERA and 97 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles is 21-7 in their last 28 Friday games and 11-4 in their last 15 games against the NL East while the under is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Washington is 10-2 in their last 12 home games and 16-6 in their last 22 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 Friday games.

I get the case that could be made for either side here, and I may be stating the obvious, but we have a fantastic starting pitching matchup going here with Scherzer and Urias, and I think this could easily end up being a 3-2 or 2-1 win that goes a full nine innings either way instead of just five. Give me the under here.
