Mike Foltynewicz took the loss, falling to 2-9 after allowing ten runs on eight hits while failing to make it out of the second inning. The Detroit Tigers will attempt to build on their 7-0 win over the Twins from Sunday. Jonathan Schoop and Jeimer Candelario each had two hits and three RBIs with a home run, with Candelario logging a double as well. Miguel Cabrera added a base hit as well to finish off the scoring for Detroit in the win. Akil Baddoo and Derek Hill each had two hits while Jake Rogers added a double and Isaac Paredes added a base hit as well to finish off the Tigers’ offense as a team in the win. Wily Peralta got the win to improve to 3-1 on the year after tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out four in the victory. Casey Mize will start here and is 5-5 with a 3.59 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. This will be Mize’s second career start against Texas.
