The Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet in an NL West division matchup in MLB action from Dodger Stadium on Saturday night.

The Colorado Rockies will be looking to build on their 9-6 extra innings win over the Dodgers from Friday night. Charlie Blackmon led the charge with a 3 for 4 day at the dish, with a three-run home run and a double while Trevor Story and Ryan McMahon each had two RBIs with Story belting a solo homer. Sam Hilliard and Elias Diaz each had a solo home run to cap off the scoring for the Rockies in the winning effort. Chi Chi Gonzalez allowed four runs on five hits while striking out four over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Daniel Bard got the win in relief to improve to 5-5 on the year while Lucas Gilbreath closed the door for his 1st save of the year. Kyle Freeland will start here and is 1-4 with a 5.36 ERA and 36 strikeouts this season. In his career, Freeland is 2-6 with a 4.43 ERA and 53 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to rebound after falling short against the Rockies on Friday night. Justin Turner led the charge with two RBIs including a solo home run while Will Smith, Cody Bellinger, A.J. Pollock and Matt Beaty all had RBIs to make up the rest of the scoring for the Dodgers in the losing effort with Bellinger logging a triple and a double while Smith added a double as well. Chris Taylor went 2 for 5 with a double while Sheldon Neuse and Austin Barnes each had base hits as well to cap off the Dodger offense. David Price allowed three runs on four hits while striking out four over 6.2 innings of work in the start, not factoring in the decision. Jimmie Sherfy took the loss in relief, falling to 2-1 on the year as a result. Tony Gonsolin will start here and is 1-1 with a 2.83 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. in his career, Gonsolin is 0-1 with a 2.40 ERA and 21 strikeouts against Colorado.

Colorado is 12-42 in their last 54 road games and 2-7 in their last 9 Saturday games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Los Angeles is 5-0 in their last 5 Saturday games and 12-5 in their last 17 games against a right-handed starter while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games as a home favorite.

The Rockies winning back-to-back road games is not something I’m looking to have happen often, but on the flipside, I’m not laying this price with Tony Gonsolin who is basically a long reliever being placed in a starting spot. Kyle Freeland hasn’t been great, but he’s decent enough and the Rockies have to be riding some kind of momentum after taking down the Dodgers on Friday. I’ll take my chances with the Rockies and the plus money here.
