The Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies meet in an NL East division matchup in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Atlanta Braves will look to grab another win after a 15-3 rout of the Phillies on Saturday. Joc Pederson led the way, with four hits including a home run and four RBIs while Ozzie Albies and Abraham Almonte each added a home run and three RBIs. Freddie Freeman and Austin Riley each had a home run and two RBIs while Dansby Swanson had three hits with two doubles and an RBI to finish off Atlanta’s offense in the win. Guillermo Heredia and Ehire Adrianza each had base hits as wel to round out Atlanta’s offense. Drew Smyly threw four shutout innings in the start but it was josh Tomlin that ended up with the win in relief. Touki Toussaint will start here and is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA and 5 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look for a bounce back after being shelled by the Braves on Saturday. Rhys Hoskins had a double and an RBI while Didi Gregorius and Ronald Torreyes each had base hits to cap off the scoring for the Phils in the loss. Bryce Harper had a double and Andrew McCutchen had three hits while Jean Segura and J.T. Realmuto each had base bits as well to finish off Philadelphia’s offense in defeat. Vince Velasquez took the loss, falling to 3-5 on the year after allowing six runs on five hits over less than three innings of work. Aaron Nola will start here and is 6-6 with a 4.64 ERA and 131 strikeouts this season.

Atlanta is 2-6 on their last 8 games as a road underdog and 4-1 in their last 5 game four matchups while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 Sunday games. Philadelphia is 5-2 in their last 7 Sunday games and 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 13-3 in their last 16 games overall.

I get why the Phillies would be favoured as Nola is supposed to be the staff ace and I’m not much of a Touki Toussaint guy. However, Nola hasn’t been all that great this season and has looked far from an ace more often than not if we are being honest. I think there’s value to be had with the Braves here.
