The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants meet Tuesday in MLB action from Oracle Park. Los Angeles is coming off a series versus the Rockies. The dodgers lost Friday but won the other pair in that set. As for the Giants, they played the Pirates this past weekend. San Francisco lost the first two games but stopped the sweep with a Sunday victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Los Angeles fell to the Rockies 9-6 on Friday, but the good news is that they notched wins 1-0 Saturday and 3-2 on Sunday. In the finale victory, LA’s Josiah Gray lasted 4.0 innings with three hits, two earned and four walks.

For the starter job in the Tuesday game, the Dodgers will go with Julio Urias. This year over 119.0 innings Urias has 101 hits, 53 runs (48 earned), 17 homers allowed, 25 walks, 127 Ks and a 3.63 ERA.

Over on the Giants’ side, they fell to the Pirates 6-4 Friday and 10-2 on Saturday before a solid 6-1 win Sunday to finish off the series. In the win, San Francisco’s Alex Wood put up 5.1 innings with one earned on five hits and two walks.

For the starting role in the Tuesday game, the Giants are going with Logan Webb. In his 61.0 innings this year Webb has 55 hits, 26 runs (24 earned), five homers allowed, 21 walks, 65 strikeouts and a 3.54 ERA.

The Dodgers are 41-14 in their last 55 after an off day and 38-14 in their last 52 Tuesday games. LA is 73-32 in their last 105 after a win and 8-3 in the last 11 versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Giants are 6-1 in their last seven versus the NL West and 13-3 in their last 16 after an off day. San Francisco is 20-7 in their last 27 in game one of a series and 15-7 in their last 22 Tuesday games.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Giants. We should have a pretty nice starting pitcher matchup here regardless, however. Webb has given up two earned runs or fewer in each of his last six outings, going 5.0 frames or more in four of those. As for Urias, he had a shaky outing in Colorado on July 16, but bounced back nicely with one earned on three hits in 7.0 innings versus the Giants his last time up. I like this one to be a tight, relatively lower-scoring pitcher battle. Should be fun.
