The Philadelphia Phillies host the Washington Nationals in an NL East division matchup in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night.

The Washington Nationals will look to rebound from a 6-5 loss at the hands of the Phillies on Monday night. Josh Bell and Josh Harrison each had a triple and an RBI with Bell logging two RBIs. Gerardo Parra and Victor Robles each had an RBI to finish off the scoring for the Nationals in defeat. Tres Barrera, Alcides Escobar and Trea Turner each had two hits as well to finish off the Nationals’ offense as a team in the losing effort. Joe Ross threw five three-hit shutout innings in the start, striking out four, not factoring in the decision. Brad Hand took the loss, falling to 5-5 on the year after allowing the game-deciding three earned runs. Erick Fedde will start here and is 4-7 with a 4.88 ERA and 64 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to build on their win over the Phillies from Monday. Andrew McCutchen and Rhys Hoskins each had a home run and three RBIs with McCutchen adding a double to the cause as well. Jean Segura went 2 for 4 with a double while Didi Gregorius had two hits and Spencer Howard, Odubel Herrera, Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto each had base hits to finish off the Phillies’ offense as a team in the win. Howard allowed four runs on six hits while striking out a pair over 3.2 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Archie Bradley got the win in relief to improve to 5-1 on the year as a result. Matt Moore will start here and is 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 37 strikeouts this season.

Philadelphia is 2-7 in their lat 9 games against a left-handed starter and 17-36 in their last 53 games as an underdog while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games overall. The over is 14-4 in Philadelphia’s last 18 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 game two matchups. Washington is 3-8 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia.

I’m not trying to touch this game with a ten foot pole if we’re being completely honest, as Fedde and Moore are not two starting pitchers that I’m trying to trust, which is why I’m going to side with the over here. I think this is a spot where the offenses come alive once again and get us pushed to a double-digit total when all is said and done, so give me the over here.
