The Dominican Republic and the United States face off late on Tuesday night in an Olympic baseball showdown. The winner of this game advances, while the loser’s Olympics will be over.

The Dominican Republic faced off with Israel, and it was a game they were able to win 7-6. The Dominican Republic was trailing heading into the ninth inning, but the offense was able to score two runs, and that led to the victory. Julio Rodriguez was the best player in the last game finishing with two hits and two RBI’s. The Dominican Republic needs to get good pitching in this game especially early because the bullpen is a bit tired heading into this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is the United States who probably feel like they shouldn’t even be playing in this game. The United States was up by a run heading into the 9th inning against Japan, but they gave up a run and that led to the loss in extra innings. Triston Casas was the best player in the last game finishing with two hits and three RBI’s. Some other key players on this team are Todd Frazier and Tyler Austin. In this game for the USA, they need the offense to be strong early, but they also need some better production from the bullpen late. The USA can’t blow this game late again.
