The Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox meet Saturday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. This will be the second installment in a three-game weekend series. In the Friday opener, Chicago eked out a one-run win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Boston played the Rays this week, falling Monday and Tuesday before a 2-1 victory in the finale. In the Friday game versus Chicago, the Red Sox gave up three runs in the third and couldn’t come back from there. Tanner Houck put up 3.2 innings with three earned on four hits and three walks.

For the Saturday starting pitcher job, the Red Sox will send out Connor Seabold in his Major League debut. He’s starting in place of Nick Pivetta, who is out on the virus-related IL.

Over on the White Sox’ side, they beat the A’s in the Tuesday game this week but dropped the other pair in that series. On Friday, Chicago had six team hits in the wild victory. Carlos Rodon lasted 5.0 frames with one earned on three hits.

Starting pitcher for the Saturday game will be Chicago’s Dylan Cease. Over 148.2 innings this year Cease has 123 hits, 69 runs (64 earned), 19 homers allowed, 59 walks, 197 Ks and a 3.87 ERA.

The Red Sox are 4-1 in their last five Saturday games and 8-17 in their last 25 versus a team with a winning record. Boston is 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and the under is 7-2 in their last nine road games.

Meanwhile, the White Sox are 62-28 in their last 90 at home and 2-5 in their last seven Saturday games. The over is 7-2-1 in Chicago’s last 10 Saturday games and 10-4 in their last 14 versus the AL East.

PICK: I’m going to take the White Sox here. Cease has been pretty good lately, and has been controlling his damage well. He’s given up exactly four hits in each of his last five outings, and exactly three earned runs in four of his last six games. Cease is coming off three earned on four hits, three walks and a homer in 5.0 innings versus KC his last time up. I like another good start from him here in a game two Laundry Series win for Chicago.
