The New York Yankees and the New York Mets meet in a Subway Series matchup from Citi field in MLB action on Sunday night baseball.

The New York Yankees will look to build on their 8-7 win over the Mets from Saturday. Aaron Judge led the way with a pair of home runs and three RBIs while Brett Gardner and Kyle Higashioka each had a two-run home run as well. Gleyber Torres and Giancarlo Stanton each had a pair of hits while DJ Lemahieu had a base hit as well to finish off the Yankee offense as well in the win. Corey Kluber allowed four runs on five hits while striking out six over four innings, of work, not factoring in the decision. Clay Holmes got the win in relief to improve to 7-3 while Aroldis Chapman closed the 9th for his 26th save. The Yankees didn’t have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted.

The New York Mets will look to rebound and steal the series final from the Yanks after Saturday’s loss. James McCann lled the way with a home run, a triple and three RBIs while Kevin Pillar had two hits with a double and two RBIs. Javier Baez had a solo home run while Taijuan Walker tried to help his own cause with an RBI, rounding out the Mets’ scoring. J.D. Davis had a pinch-hit double while Michael Conforto added a pair of hits. Jeff MCNeil added a base knock as well to finish of the offense for the Mets in defeat. Walker allowed five runs on six hits while striking out eight over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Trevor May took the loss in relief to fall to 7-3 on the year. Carlos Carrasco will start here and is 1-2 with a 5.88 ERA and 32 strikeouts this season.

The Yankees are 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 1-7 in their last 8 games overall while the under is 5-1-1 in their last 7 Sunday games. The Mets are 6-2 in their last 8 interleague games and 9-4 in their last 13 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Sunday games.

Maybe these two teams will lock each other down on Sunday knowing the importance of this game to both sides, but it was just as important on Saturday and that didn’t stop us from flying over the number. Carlos Carrasco has pitched better lately, but he’s still putting up some below average numbers this season. The Yankees finally turned it around on Saturday, but I still don’t trust their situation across the board, so give me the over here.
