The Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates meet in an NL Central division matchup in MLB action from PNC Park on Tuesday night.

The Cincinnati Reds will be out to rebound from a 2-0 loss at the hands of St. Louis in Sunday’s series finale. Mike Moustakas and Delino DeShields each had a double while Jonathan India, Tyler Stephenson and Max Schrock all had base hits as the Reds had just five hits as a team in the losing effort. Sonny Gray took the loss, falling to 7-7 on the year after allowing two runs on three hits while striking out six over seven innings of work. Wade Miley will start here and is 12-5 with a 2.89 ERA and 122 strikeouts this season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to bounce back also after a 6-2 defeat at the hands of Washington last time out. Bryse Wilson and Bryan Reynolds had the lone pair of RBIs for the Pirates in the losing effort while Kevin Newman went 2 for 3 with a triple. Ke’Bryan Hayes, Wilmer Difo and Anthony Alford each had a base hit as well as the Piates had just five hits as a team in the losing effort. Wilson took the loss, falling to 2-7 on the year after allowing five runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings of work. Dillon Peters will start here and is 0-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 15 strikeouts this season.

Cincinnati is 4-10 in their last 14 games overall and 2-6 in their last 8 games as a road favorite while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss. Pittsburgh is 5-2 in their last 7 home games and 16-35 in their last 51 games overall while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 Tuesday games.

I get why the Reds are favored here, but as bad as Pittsburgh’s offense has been, Peters has pitched well enough to keep the Pirates in the majority of his starts. Wade Miley arguably my favorite arm in that rotation for the Reds, so I’ll take the under in this spot in what I’m expected to shape up as a pitcher’s duel.
