The Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers meet in an NL Central division matchup in MLB action from Comerica Park on Wednesday.

The Chicago White Sox will look to rebound from a 5-3 loss to Detroit in their last game on Tuesday. Luis Robert led the way with two hits including a double and two RBIs while Tim Anderson had a pair of hits with a double and an RBI of his own to make up the scoring for the White Sox in the winning effort. Jose Abreu and Yoan Moncada each had two hits with a double as well and Adam Engel added a two-bagger of his own while Cesar Hernandez, Leury Garcia and Eloy Jimenez chipped in base hits to finish off Chicago’s offense as a team in the winning effort. Dallas Keuchel allowed two runs on 11 hits while striking out a pair over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jace Fry took the loss in relief to fall to 0-1 on the year as a result. Reynaldo Lopez will start here and is 3-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 47 strikeouts this season.

The Detroit Tigers will look to build off of their victory over the White Sox from Tuesday’s action. Victor Reyes and Akil Baddoo each had multi-hit games with two RBIs, with Reyes going 4 for 4 at the dish with a double. Niko Goodrum added an RBI to cap off the scoring for Detroit in the win while Robbie Grossman had a pair of hits with a double. Daz Cameron had three hits and Jeimer Candelario added a pair of hits while Jonathan Schoop added a base knock as well to finish off the Tiger offense as a team in the win. Tyler Alexander allowed two runs on eight hits with a pair of strikeouts over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Bryan Garcia got the win to improve to 3-2 on the year while Michael Fulmer closed the final inning for his 11th save of the year. Casey Mize will start here and is 7-8 with a 3.64 ERA and 111 strikeouts this season.

Chicago is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 9-3 in their last 12 games following a loss while the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 road games against a right-handed starter. Detroit is 5-0 in their last 5 home games and 4-0 in their last 4 games as an underdog while the under is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games following a win.

This is an interesting matchup as the White Sox have something to play for while the Tigers are doing a good job at playing spoiler, or trying to anyways. With that said, I’m leaning towards the under here as Lopez and Mize are two of the more underrated hurlers in their respective rotations and I think this is a spot where both can deal us to an under.
