The Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees meet in MLB action from Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.

The Texas Rangers will look to bounce back from a 7-1 loss at the hands of the Yankees on Tuesday. Nick Solak plated the Rangers’ lone RBI while Andy Ibanez had three hits with a double. Leody Taveras had a double as well while Adolis Garcia added a base hit of his own as the Rangers cranked out just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Dane Dunning took the loss, falling to 5-9 on the year after allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three over 2.2 innings of work. Taylor Hearn will start here and is 6-5 with a 4.52 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season.

The New York Yankees will look to build off of their big win over the Rangers from Tuesday night. Aaron Judge led the charge, putting up a home run, a double and three RBIs while Giancarlo Stanton had a solo home run and two total RBIs. Joey Gallo added a solo blast of his own and Anthony Rizzo had an RBI as well to round out the scoring for the Yankees in the win. Brett Gardner added a double while Gio Urshela, Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu each had a base hit to finish off the offense for New York in victory. Jordan Montgomery got the win to climb to 6-6 on the year after allowing one run on four hits with six strikeouts over 5.2 innings of work. Corey Kluber will start this one and is 5-3 with a 3.68 ERA and 76 strikeouts this season.

Texas is 20-42 in their last 62 games overall and 26-59 in their last 85 games as an underdog while the over is 2-0-2 in their last 4 Wednesday games. New York is 35-16 in their last 51 Wednesday games and 3-8 in their last 11 home games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall.

I get the case that could be made for an underdog in certain spots, but the Rangers simply have nothing to play for and aren’t even up to playing the role of spoiler. Sure, they’re going out to compete, but there’s just a wide talent and determination gap between these two teams. With that said, I’m not putting a dime on Corey Kluber as he’s been terrible for the most part since coming back from injury. Taylor Hearn’s been good for the Rangers in his brief stint, but the Yankees are fired up and right in the thick of the playoff race. I think runs come on the board in bunches on Wednesday, so give me the over here.
