The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies meet in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to rebound from a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Phillies on Saturday. Bryan Reynolds leads the Pirates across the board with a .295 batting average, a .384 OBP, 24 home runs, 88 RBIs and 158 hits with 32 doubles. Reynolds also has 5 triples this season while Gregory Polanco is the only other Pirate with double-digit home runs this season. Max Kranick is expected to get the start in this game and is 1-3 with a 7.28 ERA and 25 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to build off of their win over the Pirates from Saturday afternoon. Bryce Harper leads the Phillies with a .312 batting average, a .433 OBP, 34 home runs and 82 RBIs while also owning a team-high 40 doubles and sitting 2nd on the team with 145 hits, only behind Jean Segura’s 147 hits this season. J.T. Realmuto leads the Phillies with 4 triples while Segura has 3 triples this season. The Phillies did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was published.

Pittsburgh is 17-36 in their last 53 Sunday games and 13-41 in their last 54 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the NL East. Philadelphia is 4-0 in their last 4 home games and 4-0 in their last 4 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the NL Central.

This isn’t the easiest call to make as the Phillies could go any which way with their pitching situation for Sunday, but I’m still backing the Phillies big here. They’re the only team with anything to play for in this spot and the Pirates haven’t done a very good job playing spoiler, especially by sending Max Kranick to the hill with his swollen ERA. I think the Phillies know they’re running out of time to catch Atlanta for the division as the days dwindle and I think they keep pace with a win here on the run line.
