The Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox meet Monday in Game 4 of the ALDS in MLB action at Fenway Park. The Rays need a win to force a game 5 on Wednesday. The Red Sox have a chance to make their first ALCS since 2018 with a victory here.

The Tampa Bay Rays have scored 15 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last eight games. The Rays have won eight of their last 10 games when scoring four or more runs. Wander Franco leads the Rays with six hits and two RBI while Randy Arozarena and Nelson Cruz have combined for six hits and three RBI. The Tampa Bay Rays didn’t announce a starting pitcher at the time this article was published.

The Boston Red Sox have scored 20 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in three of their last four games. The Red Sox have won 14 straight games when scoring four or more runs. Enrique Hernandez leads the Red Sox with nine hits and five RBI while Alex Verdugo and Xander Bogaerts have combined for 13 hits and nine RBI. Eduardo Rodriguez gets the ball, and he was 13-8 with a 4.74 ERA and 185 strikeouts this season. Rodriguez is 0-1 with a 8.49 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his postseason career.

The Rays are 42-15 in their last 57 Monday games and 4-1 in their last 5 Divisional Playoff games. The Red Sox are 13-3 in their last 16 playoff games and 4-1 in their last 5 Divisional Playoff games. The under is 6-2-2 in Rays last 10 road games. The over is 4-1 in Red Sox last 5 overall. The Rays are 17-7 in the last 24 meetings in Boston and 12-5 in the last 17 meetings.

It’s hard to pick this game without knowing who the starting pitchers are. However, I’m not sure how the Rays come back from that game 3 loss. Not only was the game decided in extra innings, but the Rays emptied their bullpen and lost after a controversial ground rule double was called that cost them the game. The Red Sox have all the momentum right now and have to be feeling themselves. However, I will update this article when we know more about the pitchers.

Update: The Rays haven’t announced a starting pitcher, but it appears they’re going to roll with a bullpen game. It’s hard to trust the Rays after they emptied the clip on their bullpen yesterday. The Red Sox have all the momentum on their side and have to like their chances to advance. I’m not running to the window to back Rodriguez, but I can’t get behind the Rays and their roughed up pitching staff.
