The Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves meet in game three of the World Series in MLB action from Truist Park on Friday night.
The Houston Astros will look to take control of the series after evening it up at one win apiece following a 7-2 win over Atlanta in game two last time out. Jose Altuve went 2 for 5 with a solo home run and a double while Michael Brantley went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI of his own. Alex Bregman, Yuli Gurriel, Jose Siri and Martin Maldonado each had RBIs while Kyle Tucker and Carlos Correa each had base hits as well to finish off Houston’s offense as a team in the win. Jose Urquidy got the win after allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out seven over five innings of work. Luis Garcia will start here and is 1-1 with a 9.64 ERA and 12 strikeouts this postseason.
The Atlanta Braves will look to retake the series lead after their loss in game two last time out. Travis d’Arnaud had a solo home run, going 2 for 4 at the dish while Freddie Freeman had an RBI as well to cap off the scoring for the Braves in the losing effort. Jorge Soler added a double while Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley and Dansby Swanson each had base hits as well to finish off the offense for the Braves in defeat. Max Fried took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits with six strikeouts over five innings of work.
Houston is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 6-2 in their last 8 game three matchups while the over is 7-0 in their last 7 games as an underdog. Atlanta is 10-1 in their last 11 home games and 20-6 in their last 26 games overall while the under is 5-0-2 in their last 7 interleague games.
These are two of the more consistent hitting teams in the majors, so it should really be no surprise that these are the two teams left standing. With that said, Garcia had a really good outing in his last start and Anderson’s been steady through the first two series as well in this postseason and I think a pitcher’s duel could be on the cards in this one. Give me the under here.
