The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in an NL Central division matchup in MLB action from American Family Field on Saturday.
The Cincinnati Reds will look to rebound from a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Brewers in Friday’s matchup. Heading into Friday’s game, Kyle Farmer leads the Reds with 50 RBIs along with 20 doubles while Joey Votto has 10 home runs, 38 RBIs and 17 doubles with 52 hits as well. Jonathan India’s also chipping in a .249 batting average for the Reds as well this season. Nick Lodolo will start here and is 3-3 with a 4.23 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season.
The Milwaukee Brewers will hope to keep the momentum going after their triumph over the Reds from Friday’s matchup. Entering Friday’s game, Rowdy Tellez has 21 home runs and 66 RBIs while Hunter Renfroe has 19 homers as well and Willy Adames also has 21 home runs. Renfroe has a .250 batting average and Adames has 57 RBIs. Christian Yelich also has 97 hits with 17 doubles and 35 RBIs and Andrew McCutchen has a .254 batting average and 81 hits this season. Aaron Ashby will start here and is 2-9 with a 4.13 ERA and 98 strikeouts this season.
Cincinnati is 21-46 in their last 67 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. Milwaukee is 1-5 in their last 6 division games and 7-3 in their last 10 games against a team with a left-handed starter while the over is 14-3 in their last 17 game two matchups.
I’m on the over here. Nick Lodolo has been alright on the surface and his road action is a small sample size, but that small sample size hasn’t been very good and the Brewers are capable of tearing the cover off of the ball. However, so are the Reds even though they got rid of a couple of their key guys and I think this is one of those games that ends up as a 6-5 kind of game so give me the over here.
