The Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers meet in MLB action from Globe Life Field on Saturday.
The Chicago White Sox will try to build on their 2-1 win over the Rangers from Friday’s matchup. Jose Abreu has 14 home runs, along with 55 RBIs, 118 hits and 27 doubles while Luis Robert has a .301 batting average with 92 hits, 12 home runs and 54 RBIs and Andrew Vaughn has 49 RBIs, a .299 batting average and 20 doubles this season. A.J. Pollock’s also added 35 RBIs and 16 doubles on the year for Chicago. Michael Kopech will start here and is 4-7 with a 3.12 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season.
The Texas Rangers will try to bounce back after yet another defeat following Friday’s loss to the White Sox. Nate Lowe has 108 hits and a .284 batting average with 18 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 18 home runs and 64 RBIs. Corey Seager also has 96 hits, 24 homers and 55 RBIs and Marcus Semien has 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 52 RBIs while the aforementioned Garcia has 96 hits and 20 doubles as well on the year. Dane Dunning will start here and is 1-6 with a 4.30 ERA and 93 strikeouts this season.
Chicago is 7-1 in their last 8 game three matchups and 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a right-handed starter while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Texas is 1-7 in their last 8 home games and 1-10 in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 7-2 in their last 9 games against the AL Central.
I get the reasoning for backing the over here as seeing Kopech vs. Dunning on the marquee for the pitching matchup could suggest a bit of a higher-scoring game, but I’m on the under here as both of those starters have found themselves pitching some solid ball over the last couple of games respectively and I think there’s a pitcher’s duel brewing here as well. I think this is a 3-2 kind of game whichever way you see it going, so give me the under here.
