The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves meet Saturday in MLB action from SunTrust Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game series over the weekend. In Friday’s opener, the Dodgers secured a three-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Los Angeles played the Reds this week, eventually taking a three-game sweep. In the Friday game versus the Braves, the Dodgers scored twice in the first inning and eventually powered out a 4-1 win. Julio Urias went 6.0 innings in the start with one earned on three hits and two walks.

For the starter gig in the Saturday matchup the Dodgers will send out Andrew Heaney. Over three starts this year Heaney is 1-0 with a 0.59 ERA. In 15.1 innings he has one earned on nine hits and four walks with 23 Ks.

Over on the Braves’ side, they managed to win three of four versus the Giants this week in a very close series. On Friday, Atlanta recorded six team hits in the loss. Starting pitcher Ian Anderson managed 4.0 innings with four earned on six hits and four walks.

As the starter for the Braves on Saturday Atlanta will send out Max Fried. In 14 starts so far Fried is 7-2 with a 2.77 ERA. Over 87.2 innings of work he has 77 hits, 27 earned, 15 walks and 83 strikeouts.

The Dodgers are 40-11 in their last 51 in game two of a series and 42-18 in their last 60 versus a lefty starter. LA is 90-42 in their last 132 overall.

Meanwhile, the Braves are 20-6 in their last 26 overall and 13-4 in their last 17 Saturday games. Atlanta is 37-17 in their last 54 versus a lefty starter.

PICK: I’m going to try the Braves here. Should be a fun matchup, though. Fried had a spotty start in Washington this month with four earned on six hits and a walk in 5.2 innings. That said, he still got the win. Fried posted just one earned in 7.0 innings his last time up as well. As for Heaney, he looked good in his first start back with 5.0 innings, one earned, five hits and a walk. I like both starters to do well in this one during a competitive game.
