Venezuela and Israel face off on Wednesday in a Pool D World Baseball Classic showdown at loanDepot Park.

Venezuela Betting Preview

Venezuela comes into this game with a perfect 3-0 record and they have looked quite impressive so far in the World Baseball Classic. Venezuela opened up the tournament with a 5-1 victory over the Dominican Republic. In Game 2 they faced off against Puerto Rico and they were able to secure a 9-6 victory. On Tuesday they were tested against Nicaragua but they were able to secure a 4-1 victory. Anthony Santander had a strong game finishing with two hits and one RBIs. In this game, if the pitching is good, Venezuela is going to be in great shape to pick up their fourth game.

Israel  Betting Preview

On the other side of this matchup is Israel who sits with a 1-2 record overall and they are coming off another loss on Tuesday. On Sunday to kick off pool play, Israel faced off against Nicaragua, and they were able to secure a 3-1 victory. The offense wasn’t exactly elite, but the pitching was strong. On Monday against Puerto Rico, Israel failed to even get a hit, and that led to the 10-0 defeat. On Tuesday, Israel faced off against the Dominican Republic, and they were defeated 10-1. They finished with only one hit, and they need to find a way to get the offense going here. If the offense struggles, they are going to have no chance to secure the win.

Shane’s Free Pick

Israel has managed only a hit over the last two games and it’s not going to get any easier in this game. Venezuela has had good pitching so far, and Israel is going to have issues getting even two hits here. Look for Venezuela to score at least 10 runs here, and this game is going to be a blowout victory by the favorites. Back Venezuela -5.5 to cash here. This game is going to be over early.

Shane Mickle's Free Pick: Venezuela -5.5
