Arizona Diamondbacks vs LA Angels Prediction 6-11-24 Picks

The Los Angeles Angels and the Arizona Diamondbacks meet Tuesday in MLB action from Chase Field. Here’s an Arizona Diamondbacks vs LA Angels Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

The Angels took on the Houston Astros in their weekend series. Los Angeles lost the first two installments of that set 7-1 and 6-1, but managed to power out a 9-7 victory in the finale to stop the potential sweep. Angels starter Patrick Sandoval put up 5.2 innings with five earned runs in that one.

For the starter gig in the Tuesday matchup the Angels will send out Jose Suarez. This year Suarez is 1-0 with a 6.54 ERA in 16 games (zero starts). Suarez has a career record of 20-27 with a 5.49 ERA in 93 games (58 starts).

Over on the Diamondbacks’ side, they played the San Diego Padres over the weekend. Arizona lost the Friday game 10-3 and the Saturday matchup 13-1, but managed victories 4-3 and 9-3 in the other pair to come away with a draw. The Diamondbacks scored six runs in the second inning in the Sunday win.

It’ll be Jordan Montgomery in the starting pitcher role for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. So far this year Montgomery is 3-4 with a 6.80 ERA in nine starts. Over his career Montgomery is 41-38 with a 3.86 ERA in 150 games (149 starts).

Arizona Diamondbacks vs LA Angels Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Angels here. Probably not touching it, though. Suarez likely won’t be in the game for too long. Over his last three outings Suarez has three earned runs in 6.1 innings total on six hits and three walks. None of those went longer than 3.1 innings. As for Montgomery, he’s struggled lately with 14 earned runs on 17 hits and six walks over his last 6.0 innings.

The Angels should have some early opportunities to score of Montgomery continues to struggle. This one could get out of hand quickly on either side, so a high total wouldn’t be a surprise.
