The New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in MLB action from SunTrust Park. This will be the finale in a three-game series. New York Yankees 

The Yankees continued their losing slide on Monday in the opener of this set, coughing up eight runs in the first three innings on the way to an 11-3 blowout loss. Isiah Kiner-Falefa managed three hits, an RBI and a run during the defeat. On Tuesday New York had just one hit (and two errors) in a rough 5-0 loss. DJ Lemahieu had the lone hit and Aaron Judge walked twice but it was another bad outing for the offense. 

It’s looking like Randy Vasquez will get the nod for the Yankees on Wednesday. This year Vasquez is 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA in four games (three starts).

Atlanta Braves 

Over on the Braves’ side, they really got their offense cooking Monday on 15 team hits. Eddie Rosario and Nicky Lopez combined for six hits, four runs and seven RBI. On Tuesday in game two, Atlanta scored three times in the first inning and never looked back. Ronald Acuna had two hits, two runs, two RBI and a homer, and Marcell Ozuna had a three-run shot of his own. 

Charlie Morton will take the mound for the Braves in the finale. This year over his 23 starts Morton is 11-10 with a 3.71 ERA and 136 Ks in 128.2 innings. Morton has gone 3-4 with a 4.03 ERA in his last seven starts, giving up 17 earned in 38.0 innings.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

The line’s too thick to mess with but I’ll stick with the Braves in this one, so long as Morton can keep it going. In his last start against the Mets Morton put up a win with 5.0 clean innings, three hits and seven walks. He’d been struggling a bit in his pair prior however, with eight earned in 10.1 innings for an 0-2 record. Morton should be able to handle the Yankees hitters if he’s on, though. In the Tuesday matchup, Atlanta rolled to the win behind a sparkling one-hit effort from the pitching staff. The Braves only had six team hits, but the homers and walks did more than enough damage. I think Atlanta keeps it up here and sweeps a struggling Yankees team.
