Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re coming off a matchup versus the Chicago Cubs. Baltimore lost the first two installments of that set 9-2 and 4-0. On Thursday the O’s were demolished in a shutout 8-0. Starting pitcher Albert Suarez had 5.0 innings with four earned runs.
As starting pitcher for Friday’s matchup the Orioles will go with Cade Povich. In the first six starts of his career Povich is 1-3 with a 6.51 ERA. He has 18 Ks in 27.2 innings total.

Baltimore Orioles vs NY Yankees Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with the Orioles. Most of that is due to not trusting the Yankees though, so I’ll also probably just avoid this one. Cole is coming off another rough performance on July 6 versus Boston, giving up four earned on seven hits and two walks in 4.1 innings. He’s lasted 4.1 innings or fewer in two of his last three starts, giving up a combined 10 earned in that pair.
On Thursday the Yankees got into trouble early and ultimately couldn’t dig their way out of a five-run hole despite a few flashes on offense. if there’s good news, it’s that the bullpen was rock solid. That said, it’s still yet another devastating loss for New York. Baltimore is struggling themselves after a sweep by the Cubs, so this series will be huge heading into the All-Star break.
