The San Diego Padres and the Baltimore Orioles meet Friday in MLB action from Oriole Park. Here’s a Baltimore Orioles vs San Diego Padres prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

This week the Padres took on the Washington Nationals. After wins 4-0 and 12-3 in the first two installments of that set, on Thursday San Diego posted a 3-0 shutout win. Oddly enough, San Diego scored all of their runs in the first inning and Dylan Cease did the rest with a brilliant no-hitter.

Adam Mazur will start for the Padres on Friday. This year Mazur is 1-3 with a 7.84 ERA and 21 strikeouts.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Over on the Orioles’ side, they played the Miami Marlins in their last set. Baltimore lost 6-3 in each of the first two games. In the finale the O’s staved off the sweep with a 7-6 victory. Starter Corbin Burnes lasted 7.1 innings with three earned runs.

As starting pitcher Friday, Baltimore is sending out Grayson Rodriguez. This year Rodriguez is 12-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 18 starts. Over his 41 career starts Rodriguez is 19-8 with a 4.11 ERA.

Baltimore Orioles vs San Diego Padres Prediction

I’ll lean toward the O’s, but I’m probably not touching this one due to the rather hefty line. Rodriguez has a couple of victories in his last three games, as well as one rough loss. In the loss Rodriguez posted six earned in 5.0 innings. During the two wins combined, Rodriguez was much better on five earned over 12.0 innings.

On Thursday the Orioles needed 10 innings to fend off the struggling Marlins, blowing a 6-0 lead along the way. Baltimore isn’t looking great after that series, so a strong performance here is much needed.
