The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles meet Saturday in MLB action from Oriole Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game series over the weekend. On Friday in the opener, the Rangers posted a blowout victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Texas Rangers

The Rangers lost to the Pirates on Monday, but rebounded for victories in the remaining two games of that series. On Friday versus the O’s, Texas scored eight runs in the fourth during a 12-2 blowout. Jon Gray went 7.0 innings in the start with one earned, four hits and a walk.

For game two the Texas starter will be Andrew Heaney. In his nine starts so far Heaney is 3-3 with a 4.13 ERA and 52 Ks in 48.0 innings. Heaney is 39-45 with a 4.53 ERA in 146 career games (135 starts).

Baltimore Orioles

Over on the Baltimore side, they were able to take two of three games from the Yankees this week. In the Friday matchup, the Orioles were out-hit 13-8 in the loss. Starter Grayson Rodriguez finished on 3.1 innings, eight earned, six hits and three walks.

It’ll be Dean Kremer in the starting role for the Orioles on Saturday. In 10 starts this year Kremer is 5-1 with a 4.61 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 52.2 innings. Kremer is 14-16 with a 4.57 ERA in 49 career games (48 starts).

The Rangers are 5-0 in their last five Saturday games and 17-42 in their last 59 versus the AL East. The over is 6-2 in Texas’ last eight Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the O’s are 5-0 in their last five in game two of a series and 11-3 in their last 14 versus a lefty starter. Baltimore is 4-9 in their last 13 Saturday games.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll stay with the Orioles here. We should have a solid starter matchup regardless, though. Kremer is 2-0 in his last three with 17.0 innings, four earned, 19 hits and four walks. As for Heaney, he’s 1-1 in his most recent trio with four earned in 18.2 innings on 14 hits and six walks. On Friday the Orioles had one bad inning and couldn’t cash in on their offensive opportunities. I like Baltimore to bounce back in this one in a close win.
