Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 6/25/2021

The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Sahlen Field on Friday night.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to bounce back from a 9-0 loss at the hands of the Jays on Friday. Pedro Severino had a pair of hits with a double while Maikel Franco, Austin Hays, Ryan Mountcastle, Trey Mancini and Cedric Mullins each had a base hit to cap off Baltimore’s offense as a team in the win as the Orioles had just seven hits as a team in the win. Dean Kremer took the loss, falling to 0-7 on the year after allowing six runs on two hits while failing to make it out of the first inning. Matt Harvey will start here and is 3-9 with a 7.80 ERA and 53 strikeouts this season. in his career, Harvey is 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA and 10 strikeouts against Toronto.

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to build on their win over Baltimore from Thursday. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had a grand slam while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a solo home run. Marcus Semien, Teoscar Hernandez and Bo Bichette each had a double and an RBI and Randal Grichuk added an RBI as well to cap off Toronto’s scoring as a team in the win. Reese McGuire also added three hits while Santiago Espinal chipped in a base knock as well to finish off Toronto’s offense as a team in the victory. Anthony Kay got the win to improve to 1-2 after tossing five shutout innings, allowing just five hits while striking out eight on the way to the win. Alek Manoah will start here and is 1-0 with a 4.18 ERA and 27 strikeouts this season. This will be Manoah’s second career start against the Orioles.

Baltimore is 20-44 in their last 64 Friday games and 15-40 in their last 55 road games while the over is 18-7-1 in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record. Toronto is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 Friday games while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 game two matchups. The Orioles are 16-35 in the last 51 meetings between these two teams.

This is a difficult matchup from a total perspective as the Orioles have struggled and Manoah’s been good, but Harvey is able to get us to this total on his own. I’m going to side with the over as I’ve seen nothing from him to suggest that he’ll do anything different in this start.
