Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 6/26/2021

The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Sahlen Field on Saturday.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to build on their 6-5 win over Toronto on Friday. Austin Hays had a double and two RBIs while Ryan Mountcastle, Anthony Santander and Pat Valaika each had an RBI. Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 with a double while Freddy Galvis and DJ Stweart each had a base hit as well to cap off Baltimore’s offense as a team in the win. Matt Harvey allowed three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Paul Fry got the win in relief to improve to 1-2 on the year while Cole Sulser closed out the game for his 2nd save. Keegan Akin will start here and is 0-3 with a 6.42 ERA and 32 strikeouts this season. In his career, Akin is 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA and 10 strikeouts against Toronto.

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to rebound from their loss to the Orioles on Friday. Marcus Semien had a double and two RBIs while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer each had a solo home run. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 3 for 4 with an RBI to cap off the scoring for Toronto in the losing effort. Randal Grichuk added a triple and Reese McGuire also had a base hit to finish off the offense for Toronto in the loss. Alek Manoah threw six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out six, not factoring in the decision. Trent Thornton ended up with the loss in relief to fall to 1-3 on the year as a result. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start here and is 6-4 with a 3.25 ERA and 69 strikeouts this season. in his career, Ryu is 2-0 with a 2.52 ERA and 20 strikeouts against Baltimore.

Baltimore is 27-61 in their last 88 Saturday games and 51-105 in their last 156 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win. Toronto is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 2-7 in their last 9 game three matchups while the under is 66-31-8 in their last 105 Saturday games.

The Orioles got a nice win on Friday, but I’m not expecting the good vibes to last very long. Keegan Akin hasn’t been an overly reliable starter in his young career and as up and down as the Blue Jays and Hyun-Jin Ryu have been, they’re the better team with a huge starting pitching edge and I just don’t see a way that the Orioles keep pace here. I think Toronto bounces back with a big win on the -1.5 run line here.
