Boston Red Sox vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction 4-15-24 Picks

The Cleveland Guardians and the Boston Red Sox meet Monday in MLB action from Fenway Park. Here’s a Guardians vs Red Sox prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Guardians took on the New York Yankees over the weekend. Cleveland took losses in the first two games of that set 3-2 and 8-2, then in the Sunday finale the Guardians powered out a walk-off win 8-7 in 10 innings. Both Jose Ramirez (homer) and Josh Naylor finished with two RBI, two hits and a run.

In the starting pitcher role for the Monday matchup, the Guardians will go with Xzavion Curry. This will be Curry’s season debut. In his career of 43 MLB games (11 starts), Curry is 3-5 with a 4.23 ERA and 70 Ks in 104.1 innings.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they’re coming off a weekend set versus the Los Angeles Angels. Boston lost 7-0 in game one then came back for a 7-2 win on Saturday. In the finale, the Red Sox eked out a 5-4 win. Tyler O’Neill, Triston Casas and Masataka Yoshida each homered in the victory.

As starting pitcher for Monday’s matchup, Boston is going with Kutter Crawford. Over three starts without a decision this year Crawford has a 0.57 ERA with 18 Ks in 15.2 innings. Crawford is 9-15 with a 4.45 ERA in his MLB career.

Guardians vs Red Sox Prediction

I’ll go with the Red Sox here. Crawford has pitched pretty well in the early-going over his first three starts. In that trio he has just one earned run in 15.2 innings of work total on seven hits and eight walks. Boston’s offense has come on strong over the last two games, notching a total of 12 runs in that pair (both wins).

As for Cleveland, they get credit for avoiding the sweep against a hot Yankees team on Sunday, but they were in pretty big trouble at a couple of points in the game. Unless the Guardians pitching comes through here I think the Sox have the advantage.
