The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox meet Sunday in MLB action from Fenway Park. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

This week the Yankees played the New York Mets. The Yankees lost both those games 3-2 and 12-3. Friday was another lost versus the Red Sox 9-7. In game two New York powered out an 11-8 win in 10 innings. Marcus Stroman put up 3.1 innings in the start with three earned on nine hits and a walk.

In the starter role Sunday will be Carlos Rodon. This year Rodon is 10-7 with a 4.42 ERA in 21 starts. Rodon is 69-61 with a 3.90 ERA in 187 games (182 starts).

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they played the Colorado Rockies in their last series. Boston split the first two games before a huge loss in the rubber match 20-7 to drop the set. On Saturday the Red Sox were out-hit 16-13 in a wild loss. Starter Kutter Crawford finished on 4.2 innings and five earned runs.

Tanner Houck will take the mound for the Sunday start. This year Houck is 8-6 with a 2.71 ERA in 20 starts. Over his 94 career games (61 starts) Houck is 23-25 with a 3.48 ERA.

Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees Prediction

I’ll stay with the Red Sox. Houck does need something of a bounce-back outing, though. In his last start Houck posted four earned in 6.0 innings on 10 hits and three walks. Prior to that he had just one earned in 9.1 innings over two starts, though. As for Rodon, he’s got three earned over his last 11.0 innings.
On Saturday the Sox blew a couple of leads and gave up five unanswered runs from the eighth inning on. That one easily could have gone the other way, and I think Boston will respond on Sunday.
