The Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Fenway Park on Saturday.
The Toronto Blue Jays will look to rebound after splitting a double-header with the BoSox on Saturday, taking the first game 8-7 before bowing out to the Red Sox in game two by a final count of 3-2. Game one saw Randal Grichuk and Danny Jansen each have two RBIs with Jansen homering while Grichuk had a double. Travis Shaw also went 3 for 4 with a solo home run and a double. Game two saw itemdy Tellez hit a home run while Randal Grichuk doubled and Jonathan Villar had an RBI as well in defeat. Game one saw A.J. Cole pick up the win on the mound for Toronto while Anthony Bass collected the save while Ross Stripling took the loss in game two for the Blue Jays. Chase Anderson is expected to go here and is 0-0 with a 3.20 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season. In his career, Anderson is 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA and 8 strikeouts against Boston.
The Boston Red Sox will look to build off of the split with Toronto on Friday. Game one saw Yairo Munoz post three RBIs, going 3 for 3 at the dish with a home run and a double as well. Jose Peraza had two RBIs with a double and Michael Chavis added a double of his own to finish off Boston’s offense in game one. Game two on the other hand, saw Chavis add an RBI as did Tzu-Wei Lin who also contributed a double and Yairo Munoz went 3 for 4 with a double as well. Game one saw Zack Godley take the loss on the bump while game two had Josh Taylor picking up the win in relief. Ryan Weber will start here and is 1-0 with a 6.35 ERA and 8 strikeouts against Toronto.

This just seems to me that the Blue Jays are just the far better team and that they need all of the wins that they can scrape together with a full slate against the Yankees on deck in the playoff hunt. Boston seems to be going nowhere fast and while laying this kind of juice on the road isn’t the most ideal spot for me, I can’t back Boston here. Give me the Blue Jays in this one.
