Chicago White Sox vs Detroit Tigers Prediction 8-26-24 MLB Picks

The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox meet Monday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. Here’s a Chicago White Sox vs Detroit Tigers prediction. This will be the final installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best White Sox vs Tigers pick.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Tigers played the Chicago Cubs in their last series, losing two out of three games. Detroit bounced back with wins 5-2 and 13-4 over the White Sox in their first pair, then on Sunday the Tigers came back from an early 2-0 deficit to post a 9-4 win. Bryan Sammons did most of the pitching work with 4.1 innings and one earned.

In the starter slot for Monday the Tigers will send out Ty Madden. This will be Madden’s MLB debut.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

Over on the White Sox’ side, they played the San Francisco Giants in their last set. Chicago lost the first pair before a 6-2 win on Wednesday. In Sunday game three versus Detroit, the Sox gave up three runs in the fifth and couldn’t get any closer the rest of the way. Starter Jonathan Cannon finished with 4.0 innings and five earned runs.

It’ll be Davis Martin in the starter role for the Sox on Monday. This year over five games (four starts) Martin is 0-2 with a 3.22 ERA. In 19 career games (13 starts) Martin is 3-8 with a 4.41 ERA. The White Sox will play against the Rangers, Mets, Orioles, and Red Sox following this series.

Chicago White Sox vs Detroit Tigers Prediction

I might take a stab on the White Sox here. Probably not touching it, though. Martin hasn’t been pitching too badly over his last three outings, even though he took a loss to the Giants in his most recent appearance. In that trio Martin has three earned combined over 16.0 total innings on 10 hits and six walks.

On Sunday the White Sox didn’t play too bad offensively, but they were buried by some rough pitching performances. Chicago may be able to bounce back and play well Monday, but the line’s really not enticing enough to trust them.
