Cleveland Guardians vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction 9-25-24 MLB Picks

The Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Guardians meet Wednesday in MLB action from Progressive Field. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs Cincinnati Reds prediction. This will be the second installment in a two-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Guardians vs Reds pick.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Reds took on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cincinnati won the first pair in that set before a 2-0 loss Sunday. In the Tuesday opener versus Cleveland, the Reds were down 3-0 after one inning and never recovered in a 6-1 loss. Carson Spiers gave up three earned in 4.0 innings as a starter.

The starter for Wednesday will be Julian Aguiar. This year Aguiar is 2-1 with a 6.25 ERA over the first seven starts of his career.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Cleveland side, they played the St. Louis Cardinals in their last series. The Guardians won 5-1 in the opener of that set but lost the weekend games. In the Tuesday matchup, Cleveland posted 10 team hits during the victory. Tanner Bibee was solid on 7.0 innings and one earned in the start.

Joey Cantillo will start for Cleveland on Wednesday. This year Cantillo is 2-3 with a 4.63 ERA in the first eight games (seven starts) of his MLB career.

Cleveland Guardians vs Cincinnati Reds

I’ll stay with the Guardians. Cantillo is on a nice run over his last three outings. In that trio, he’s 2-0 with just two earned runs in 16.1 total frames. As for Aguiar, he’s 1-1 in his last pair with 10 earned in 10.1 innings of work.

On Tuesday the Guardians got off to a hot start and rode the wave to a nice win. Cleveland got a couple of homers from Lane Thomas (three RBI) and Kyle Manzardo as well. I like another good all-around effort on Wednesday.
