The Cincinnati Reds and the Colorado Rockies meet Monday in MLB action from Coors Field. Here’s a Colorado Rockies vs Cincinnati Reds prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

The Reds played the Chicago Cubs in their weekend series. Cincinnati took a 5-4 win in the opener of that set then fell 7-5 in game two. In the Sunday rubber match the Reds scored four runs in the second inning during a 5-2 win. Starter Nick Lodolo managed 6.0 innings with two earned runs on seven hits and one walk.

In the starting pitcher role for the Monday game the Reds are sending out Andrew Abbott. This year Abbott is 3-5 with a 3.29 ERA and 46 Ks in 63.0 innings over 11 games. Abbott is 11-11 with a 3.66 ERA in 32 career starts. The Reds will take on the Cubs, Guardians, and Brewers after this series.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

Over on the Rockies’ side, they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their last series. Colorado Similarly split the first two installments of that set, with both games finishing 4-1. On Sunday the Rockies took a shutout loss 4-0. Austin Gomber managed 3.0 innings with three earned, five hits and three walks.

As starter for the Monday game the Rockies are going with Ryan Feltner. This year Feltner is 1-4 with a 5.46 ERA and 49 Ks in 59.1 innings over 11 starts. Feltner is 7-18 with a 5.89 ERA in 43 career games (42 starts). The Rockies will play against the Cardinals following this series.

Colorado Rockies vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction

I’ll probably take a stab on the Reds. Abbott needs a good bounce-back effort in this one, though. In his last start Abbott put up six earned runs on seven this and two walks in 6.0 innings during a loss to the Cardinals. Prior to that however, Abbott had just one earned run in 14.0 innings over two starts.

On Sunday the Reds had one big inning at the plate due in large part to TJ Friedl (three RBI). The bullpen was great as well with 3.0 clean frames, one hit and one walk. I like Cincinnati to keep things rolling on Monday if Abbott has a good start.
