In this article we will formulate a Colorado Rockies vs Cleveland Guardians prediction for this MLB game on Monday, May 27th at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game one in the series.

Colorado With a Huge Series Win

The Colorado Rockies are 18-34 this year and they have won three of their last five games. Colorado is coming off of a series win against Philadelphia, where they won two out of three games and held Philadelphia to just two runs in games one and three. Prior to that series, the Rockies lost two out of three against Oakland, were swept in three games against San Francisco, and swept the Padres in three games. Colorado is 10-6 in their last 16 games, but they are last in the NL West behind the Dodgers, Giants, Padres, and Diamondbacks.

The Colorado pitching staff has a 5.17 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and a .278 opponent batting average. The Rockies offense has scored 211 runs with a .246 batting average and a .306 on base percentage. Ryan McMahon is batting .294 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI’s for the Rockies this season. Colorado is dead last in the MLB in team ERA, but they have allowed three runs or fewer in three of their last five games.

Guardians Continue to Win

The Cleveland Guardians are 36-17 this season and they have won nine games in a row. Cleveland is coming off of a series win against the Angels, where they won all three games by scores of 10-4, 4-3, and 5-4. Prior to that series, the Guardians swept the Mets in three games, swept the Twins in three games, and won two out of three against the Rangers. Cleveland is 12-1 in their last 13 games and they continue to lead the AL Central over Kansas City.

The Cleveland pitching staff has a 3.30 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and a .231 opponent batting average. The Guardians offense has scored 263 runs with a .236 batting average and a .313 on base percentage. Jose Ramirez is batting .263 with 15 home runs and 52 RBI’s for the Guardians this season. Cleveland is fourth in the MLB in runs scored this year and they have scored at least four runs seven of their last eight games.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Colorado is Austin Gomber, who is 1-2 with a 2.76 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP over 58.2 innings pitched this year. Gomber has allowed a total of two earned runs over his last four starts (26.2 IP), but he has allowed at least five hits in three of his last five outings. The projected starting pitcher for Cleveland is Xzavion Curry, who is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP over 9.1 innings pitched this season. Curry has only had two starts so far this season, as he went 4.1 innings against the Mets allowing two earned runs and 5.0 shutout innings against the Red Sox allowing just two hits.

Colorado Rockies vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

Cleveland comes into this game playing great baseball and they have one of the better records in the MLB. Colorado only has 18 wins on the season, but 10 of those wins have came in the last 16 games. The Rockies are only 11-13 at home, while Cleveland is 18-11 on the road. Colorado is starting Austin Gomber, who has been a very solid pitcher this year. Cleveland is going with Curry, who has been strong in limited work. Cleveland is the better team in this matchup, but I really like how Gomber has pitched this year and the Rockies have momentum after winning a series against the Phillies. My Colorado Rockies vs Cleveland Guardians prediction is for the Rockies to get the win.
