Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers Prediction 6-17-24 Picks

In this article, we will formulate a Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers prediction for this MLB game on Monday, June 17th at Coors Field.

Rockies Struggled In Last Game

The Rockies really struggled in the last game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and they ended up losing 8-2. Dakota Hudson wasn’t awful in his start, but the bullpen had some issues. Victor Vodnik went 0.2 innings giving up three hits and three runs. The Rockies are averaging 4.19 runs while their pitching is giving up 5.76 runs per game. The offense is ranked 19th in the league while the pitching is ranked 30th.  Ryan McMahon has hit 12 home runs and driven in 37 RBIs so far this season. Getting the start for the Rockies will be Cal Quantrill who sits with a 6-4 record and an ERA of 3.30. Over his last two starts he has gone 11 innings and giving up zero runs. If the Rockies want any sort of chance here they are going to need Quantrill to be near perfect. If he’s not perfect, it’s not going to be enough.

Why the Rockies Will Win

Dodgers Shutout Royals

The Dodgers sure looked good on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals and they were able to secure the 3-0 victory. Tyler Glasnow had a strong game putting up seven innings giving up three hits and zero runs. The Dodgers are averaging 4.9 runs while their pitching is giving up 5.76 runs per game. The offense is ranked 5th in the league while the pitching is ranked 2nd. They have a run differential of 1.38 which is 3rd best in the league. Getting the start for the Dodgers will be James Paxton who sits with a 6-1 record and an ERA of 3.92. In his last start against the Texas Rangers, he went six innings giving up two hits and one run.

Why Dodgers Will Win

Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers Prediction

I trust James Paxton and he’s going to have another strong start. Quantrill over his last two starts have been dominant and he’s going to continue that success again here. Even a good offense like the Dodgers is going to really struggle to get anything going against Quantrill. Look for the Rockies and Dodgers to both struggle to get any type of offense going, and this game is going to stay under the total. This is one of my favorite plays on the entire board.
