Milwaukee lost to the Diamondbacks 5-0 Thursday and 2-1 Friday before bouncing back with an 8-6 Saturday win. In the Sunday finale the Brewers managed just three hits in a 5-1 loss.
For the starter gig in the Monday matchup, the Brewers are going with Freddy Peralta. Over 14 starts so far Peralta is 4-3 with a 3.56 ERA. In 68.1 innings total he has 27 earned on 47 hits and 23 walks with 73 Ks.
Over on the Rockies’ side, they lost to the Reds 3-2 on Friday. In the Sunday doubleheader, Colorado won game one 8-4. In the nightcap, the Rockies gave up five runs in two different innings on the way to a 10-0 loss.
Ryan Feltner will take the mound for the start Monday. Across his 14 games (13 starts) this year Feltner is 2-6 with a 5.78 ERA. In 67.0 innings total he has 43 earned on 72 hits and 23 walks with 58 strikeouts.
The Brewers are 6-2 in their last eight Monday games and 2-5 in the last seven in game one of a series. The under is 19-7 in Milwaukee’s last 26 Monday games.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 3-7 in the last 10 Monday games and 26-11 in their last 37 at home after a road trip of a week or more. The under is 6-0-1 in Colorado’s last seven Monday games.
PICK: I’m going Brewers in this one. Peralta has been pitching pretty well over his last three starts, with a combined three earned on six hits and four walks in 17.0 innings total. As for Feltner, he’s given up six earned on 11 hits and five walks over his last 10.1 frames. He’s gone 0-2 in those two outings. I like Peralta to keep his run going here and put Milwaukee in a winning position.
