Detroit Tigers vs Kansas City Royals MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 9/26/2021

The Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers meet Sunday in MLB action from Comerica Park. This will be the final installment in a three-game weekend series. The Royals bagged a two-run victory in the Friday opener. On Saturday, Detroit struck back with a four-run win to even it up. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Kansas City posted just five hits in the Friday opener, but that was enough for a 3-1 victory. In the Saturday game, the Royals had a lead going into the bottom of the sixth but couldn’t do anything from there in a 5-1 loss. John Heasley lasted 5.1 innings with no earned on three hits and two walks.

For the Sunday starter role, Kansas City will send out Kris Bubic. Over his 116.1 innings this year Bubic has 112 hits, 64 runs (62 earned), 21 homers allowed, 58 walks, 103 Ks and a 4.80 ERA.

Over on the Tigers’ side, they were able to tie the game in the sixth inning Friday, but couldn’t keep up with KC. On Saturday, Detroit scored three times in the sixth inning during the win. Tarik Skubal put up 4.0 innings with no earned on one hit, no walks and one K.

Starting pitcher for the Sunday game will be Detroit’s Wily Peralta. In 83.0 innings so far Peralta has 70 hits, 34 runs (28 earned), 11 homers, 32 walks, 52 Ks and a 3.04 ERA.

The Royals are 46-108 in their last 154 in game three of a series and 2-5 in their last seven with a total of 9.0-10.5. The under is 23-6-3 in KC’s last 32 Sunday games as well.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 4-0 in their last four in game three of a series and 10-4 in their last 14 at home versus a lefty starter. Detroit is also 18-37 in their last 55 Sunday games.

PICK: I’m going to try Detroit. Peralta has been on a pretty good run over his last three games, posting a total of just one earned in 17.0 innings on 11 hits and eight walks. As for Bubic, he’s done well over his last trio with five earned on 12 hits in 17.0 innings of work. This should be a pretty intriguing starter battle, and I think Peralta will get the better of it in a Tigers win.
