The Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers meet Friday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the second installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Blue Jays played a series versus the Chicago White Sox this week. Toronto won Monday 9-3 then fell 5-0 in game two. In the Wednesday rubber match the Jays took a 9-2 victory. In Thursday’s opener versus the Tigers, Toronto rolled to a 9-1 blowout win. Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman struck out 10 in 6.0 innings with one earned on three hits and two walks.

In the starting pitcher role for the Jays on Friday it’ll be Alek Manoah. This year Manoah is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts. He’s got 19 Ks in 18.0 innings. Manoah is 29-19 with a 3.31 ERA in 73 career games.

On Thursday Detroit gave up six runs over the final two innings and could only muster five team hits. Jack Flaherty posted three earned in 6.1 innings on seven hits and one walk with nine Ks.

It’ll be Matt Manning in the starting pitcher role for the Tigers on Friday. This year so far Manning is 0-1 with a 4.88 ERA and 23 Ks in 27.2 innings over five starts. Manning is 11-15 with a 4.43 ERA in 50 career starts.

Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Blue Jays. Probably staying away from this one, though. Toronto should have a few offensive opportunities early with Manning on the mound. Over his last three starts Manning has given up 11 earned runs on 26 hits and six walks over 15.1 innings of work total. Manning hasn’t factored into a decision in that time.

On Thursday the Blue Jays had a great game on both sides. Four different players had multiple hits, including Bo Bichette’s three hits, one walk and a run. I like Toronto to keep it going on Friday.
